If you like some of my early work and you’d like to support a budding artist, please stop by and see what you like. I am still working on the store and pricing but I am open to all suggestions and critiques.

Happy Halloween!! October Photo Challenge

Happy Halloween! My favorite day of the Year! In celebration of this frightfully fun day and the end of October, here are the pictures from my one month photo challenge. Turns out it’s not that easy to find something interesting to photograph every day. But it’s been a fun experiment and I came up with some really good shots! Maybe you’ll be inspired to try a photo challenge of your own!

The Mountain: the magick of time lapse photography

This is a beautiful video created using time lapse photography. I am amazed at how beautifully done this video is. It was created by Terje Sorgjerd. Absolute magic. The colors, the lighting, just an amazing display of photographic and cinematic talent. This is the kind of work that makes me so passionate about film and photography. I am so in awe of how much beauty our world has to offer us. This is why I believe environmentalism is so important. Beauty such as this is worth protecting. So that artists can bring use these glorious visual works. This the kind of work I want to do. The chance to be one with nature, to capture it’s beauty is my life’s goal. We are so fortunate to live in a world where such beauty exists. For more about Terje Sorgjerd, check out the link below.

Me and My Holga: A Love Story

I have finally found it. Something that makes my soul come alive, my creative outlet, my passion. Something that gets me excited and want to venture off into the unknown in search of magic. And that something is photography. My Holga. A spur of the moment purchase that has proven to be one of my most prized possessions. Six weeks of taking random shots with that silly toy camera, not sure that it would even actually work. It’s made of plastic, a toy, almost childlike! I couldn’t be sure that any of the effects and moments I tried to capture would actually appear on film. Today, I finally have proved the worth of that hunk of plastic. And I finally found myself as, dare I say it, an artist. The pictures are interesting. Simple, complex, imperfect, amazing, badly lit at some times, oddly colored at others, overall intriguing. I cannot help but see beauty in each and every single shot.

So please, take some time. Stare at each one, try to decipher what’s going on. Or not. Just look. Maybe you’ll like them, maybe not. It is my gift to you, to the the universe. From my heart to yours. Enjoy!

More to come 🙂

Mobile Magick

How wonderfully magickal technology can be! I took all these photos with my iPhone and some were edited with this lovely app called Picture Show. I just love taking photos. I find my most creative and inspiring moments can be captured with a camera. I especially love the ability of a single photograph to convey and provoke so much emotion. And our reactions and interpretations are so different! Photography is truly one of my favorite art forms and I hope to share more and more of my own “work” with you.

European Magick: a year abroad

The year I studied abroad in Europe was a wonderful, life changing experience. I got to see some many great cities, immerse myself in some amazing cultures. Here are some of my favorite photographs from my time in Europe. Travel is such an important way to discover the world and discover ourselves. Everyone should take the time to have a great adventure at least once in their lives.
